In October 2024, I had an extraordinary month as an academic visitor at the Immigration Policy Lab and the Center on Democracy, Development, and Rule of Law at the Freeman Spogli Institute of Stanford University. A highlight of my visit was the invitation from Professor Francis Fukuyama, arguably one of the most insightful political scientists of our time, to speak on his YouTube channel. During our discussion, we explored the opportunities and challenges of immigration and integration policy in Europe, the key success factors of integration programs, and their implications for liberal democracies. It was an unforgettable hour spent with a profound expert on European affairs, a great intellectual who never stops asking questions, striving to get to the heart of matters and continuously seeking knowledge.

His Youtube-channel Frankly Fukuyama is source of information and inspiration for all those who do not give up on liberal democracies and who are interested in geopolitical analysis beyond breathless daily news.
